Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Florbetazine [18F] is a fluorine-18 labeled radiopharmaceutical developed by Beijing Atom High-Tech Co., Ltd. as a diagnostic imaging agent for positron emission tomography (PET). It is a small molecule tracer designed to specifically bind to beta-amyloid (Aβ) plaques in the brain, which are a primary pathological hallmark of Alzheimer's disease (AD). By enabling the non-invasive visualization and quantification of amyloid burden, florbetazine [18F] assists clinicians in the early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and the evaluation of patients presenting with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The drug is currently undergoing Phase 3 clinical trials in China to support its regulatory approval as a diagnostic tool for neurodegenerative amyloidosis.
